As usual, the regatta provided beautiful coastal courses among the islands combined with the glamorous parties hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and Rolex.
The Wally Class had eight yachts on the starting line, gathering in Costa Smeralda after their Mediterranean summer cruises: Dark Shadow, Magic Carpet Squared, the new Y3K Aori, Dangerous but fun, Highland Fling X, Indio and J One.
The big fight was among the five 80 footers that had a tight competition, racing close to each other most of the time, so that the regatta final result was assigned only on the last day in a very narrow point range. J One had an impressive consistency and won the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2007 in the Wally Division, with Indio placing second and Dark Shadow third.
Among the larger Wallys, Magic Carpet Squared and Y3K showed great performance and alternated in finishing first in real time.
