NEW ZEALANDERS RETURN TO SUPPORT THE SUPERYACHT CUP

A group of marine companies from New Zealand have once again teamed up to support The Superyacht Cup and host the famous 'Kiwi BBQ' during the four day regatta in Palma.

Alloy Yachts, Yachting Developments, Robinson Marine Interiors and Southern Spars will all contribute to bringing the finest food and wines of their country to entertain the yacht owners, guests and crew for an informal dock party after the second day's race on Friday June 13th.

New Zealand marine companies have been associated with The Superyacht Cup since 2001 and their dock parties have been the highlight of the social scene for many of the participants. After sailing a beautiful yacht in the Bay of Palma, how could you beat enjoying New Zealand green-lip mussels, grilled lamb chops and a cool crisp kiwi sauvignon blanc, or a cold beer, while you share the stories of the day's race with your crew.

The Superyacht Cup is now in its 12th year and much of its success has ! been put down to the uniquely informal 'party for all' atmosphere on the dock each evening, as well as the excellent sailing conditions. The new IRC class and introduction of a new 'on-water' management team is proving popular with the more competitive yachts, "Our aim is to improve the event each year, while maintaining what makes The Superyacht Cup event such a memorable and fun regatta. The Kiwi BBQ is a great tradition and we welcome the support as always", stated Patrick Whetter, Event Director.

Over 25 yachts are already registered for this year's event with the total number limited to 30 - 35 entries. The event will be held in Dique del Oeste in Palma from June 11th - 14th 2008.
