SUCCESSFUL OPENING MONEN GROOT-AMMERS LOCATION
Responding to a growing demand for increasingly large yachts, Moonen Shipyards has opened additional facilities in Groot-Ammers, some 50 kilometres northwest of its main site in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
The official opening took place at 13th December 2008 in the presence of local officials, and was followed by a festive event with an enormous attendance including the local residents. A few lucky attendees even won the chance to enjoy a sea trial on the first yacht built at the new yard.
The Groot-Ammers site will be used for building and refitting yachts of up to 45 metres in length, while the previous facilities will be dedicated to the construction of boats up to 35 metres. Design, engineering and purchasing activities, and the joinery and painters’ workshops for the entire brand, will also remain at the ‘s-Hertogenbosch site. Forty employees are currently busy at the new yard building Moonen’s largest yacht so far, the first Moonen 124.
