BLACK GT95 - new concept from Ashish Gupta

Ashish Gupta of Beyond Design in Mumbai has already become famous for his breathe-taking superyacht designs. His incredible wooden-hulled Maharaja concept (SYW No6) saw to that. But his latest project, the Black GT95, gives almost a classic look to the Maharaja.

He focuses on speed this time, with the GT95’s slender hull (the beam is just 12 m) capable of a claimed 40 knots. Not that this comes at the expense of the stunning interiors. The main deck amazes with a spacious alfresco area amidships that is home to a bar and – on the renderings at least – a silver Lamborghini.

Forward of this is one of the yacht’s large swimming pools (the second exercise pool is aft and a third private pool is on the owner’s deck above). The main saloon, on the deck between the corporate and the owner’s, is an impressively vast space over two levels, with steps leading down to the foredeck, then up again to the pool. The amount of space to play with means some beautiful set-piece areas, such as the breakfast island aft on the corporate deck. This leads to a corporate lounge. The owner’s deck is rather extensive, too. The view from the forward-facing bed over the Jacuzzi is going to be marvelous, while there are private terraces to port and starboard. Aft there is a bar, a dining area, and also the yacht’s helideck. Enclosed almost totally in glass, you will definitely feel a close connection to the elements.
