The Sanlorenzo shipyard has chosen Francesco Paszkowski Design for the interiors of a new 44-meter steel displacement yacht. The layout has been planned with long voyages in mind. In a contemporary style, the décor is based on the harmony and contrast between forms and colors.

After the success of the SD 92 and SD 122 fiberglass semi-displacement yachts, and the Sanlorenzo 40 Alloy, an aluminum planing yacht, the collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski Design and the Sanlorenzo yard continues.

Francesco Paszkowski Design has created the interiors of the new yacht, the Sanlorenzo 44 Steel, about to be launched by yard’s Viareggio Division.

Intended for long voyages, the new steel displacement vessel has a traditional layout with, on the main deck, a living area, dining-room, galley, and owner’s suite located forward, and, on the lower deck, two double cabins and two twins, as well as quarters for eight crew members. The upper deck, with its wide-body configuration, houses another salon, the bar area, a dining-room facing aft, the helm station, and the skipper’s cabin.

The use of oak and rosewood as the main types of wood on board, suede and leather, and steel details — such as the handles on the furniture — confirm the choice of a contemporary style in all the yacht’s interiors; this preference is also expressed by the colors and geometries of the furnishings and parquet flooring.

The lines of the sofas, arranged to form intimate conversation areas, on both the main and upper decks, are squared, a continuation of those of the low pieces of furniture along the sides or the low tables in the centre of the lounge areas. This linear geometric continuity is only interrupted by the rounded shape of the bar counter and the round glass table in the dining-room on the upper deck, a contrast of forms created in order to harmoniously insert lines that are different but in equilibrium with the dominant ones.

In accord with the pleasant atmosphere created by the wood are the warm colors of the fabrics, such as orange, cream, and different tones of brown, ranging from dark brown to tobacco, used as a decorative element that, like the forms, creates harmonious contrasts. The use of optic white for the ceilings, and the fabrics of the drapes and covering the dining chairs on the upper deck, constitutes another element of color contrast that, far from seeming cold, helps to increase the brightness of the interiors.
