The Singapore Yacht Show returned in style last week, attracting an excellent turnout of really high quality visitors to fully justify the participation from some of the world’s top yacht builders, brokers and exhibitors. The 2nd edition, held from April 27 to 29, inspired visitors and exhibitors alike with a fuller and finer line-up of some of the world’s most current and talked-about superyachts and finely crafted boats.

Hong Kong, May 2, 2012 – The complete list of nominees for the upcoming Asia Boating Awards has now been released (see below), with some new and unusual entries, as well as some industry stalwarts. Asian yacht builders have been growing in global market share and are now starting to get worldwide media recognition. In addition to reorganising the size categories, the awards this year feature a brand new category: Best Asian Built Yacht.

Trinity Yachts is pleased to announce its first launch of 2012: Tsumat, a 164’ (49.9m) Tri-Deck custom built superyacht with aluminum hull and superstructure.

Under the management of Yacht Marine Ltd, with naval architecture and design by Ginton Naval Architects and interior design by Guido de Groot Design, the construction of the 40m sloop Extreme has commenced at the Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay in Tuzla. At the time of writing, the hull structure is nearly completed and the aluminium superstructure is well underway. The hull of the vessel is being built from steel with an aluminium superstructure and it will be built to RINA commercial classification.

The greatly anticipated Adastra was launched earlier this week at the McConaghy Boats China facility. Described as “one of the world's most amazing Superyachts” she has already been turning heads in China and Hong Kong where she is performing a series of sea trials.

With Gran Marlin 46 Florence based design studio KEYFRAMESTUDIO has brought the classic sport lines of Fisher-man boats to a large motor-yacht, obviously renovating its' style, to discover how this sensation translates into today's modern yacht design language.

The Perini Navi Group, world leaders in the design and construction of large-sized sailing, is pleased to announce the launching of a 50 m ketch, Enterprise, the second vessel in their new 50 m aluminium hulled series. Enterprise is scheduled for delivery in May.
