Six regattas and two boat shows are the Wally appointments of 2009.

The calendar opens with the Wally Class first appointment of the racing season: Hublot Palmavela, a four-day competition (April 15-19) organised by the Real Club Nautico of Palma de Mallorca.

The Wally racing fleet will then gather in the Tigullio gulf for the Pirelli Trophy in Portofino, Italy, organised by the Yacht Club Italiano, May 1-3. This event offers a breathtaking view of the big boats berthed in the tiny harbour of the fishing village.

The Boat International Superyacht Regatta is held in June 23-26 in Porto Cervo, Italy, and organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

The Giraglia Rolex Cup is the classic offshore race of the Med season. The start is in Saint Tropez on Wednesday June 17th, and the finish is in Genoa after 245 miles and the round of the Giraglia rock, north of Corsica. Before this race, the Yacht Club Italiano organises three days of coastal racing in Saint Tropez.

After the summer cruise, the Wally Class will return to Porto Cervo for the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (September 6-12), organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and regarded as one of the most spectacular super yacht regatta in the world.

Wally will participate to the Cannes Boat Show, September 9-14, with several boats of the Wallypower range that will be available for sea trial.

At the end of the month, Wally will display four yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show (September 23-26), the most important event in Europe for large yachts.

The Voiles de Saint Tropez (September 27-October 4) ends the Wally Class racing season with its unique gathering of classic and modern yachts in the old harbour of the glamorous French town.
