Mulder Shipyard has successfullycompleted a new Mulder 76 Flybridge for a New Zealand client. With a hull made ofsteel and superstructure of aluminium, this premium Dutch yacht is berthed in Orakei Marina, Auckland.

The order for a new 24-metre Flybridge yacht was received from New Zealand two years ago. Her design, which is based on the Mulder 82 Flybridge, has exceptionally graceful lines and a striking flared bow. Powered by two Scania DI12 65M engines (320 hp each) the yacht reaches a maximum speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of ten knots. With a diesel capacity of some 13,500 litres, the yacht has a range well above 4,000 nautical miles.

The interior has a cherry wood finish combined with natural colours. Four suites and a crew cabin offer comfortable accommodation for ten people.

The Jacuzzi on the flybridge deck offers fabulous views. Decks are laid with teak wood and the cap rail is of high gloss teak. Providing a wealth of privacy, the foreship is endowed with additional seating and a table. The latter is also made of teak, blending in with the deck.

Although New Zealand is now recognised as one of the finest countries to build a yacht, the owner intentionally chose for a Dutch yard. He was keen to leverage on the reputation of Holland in terms of yachtbuilding quality, and more specifically Mulder’s broad experience in combining aluminium and steel. To emphasise the yacht’s Dutch credentials, she has been christened Dutchess and will soon become a popular feature cruising the waters off New Zealand.
