Azure Naval Architects was founded in 2003. Its two principle partners, Hugo van Wieringen and Diederik van der Hoek, represent over 40 years of combined experience in yacht and shipbuilding. Azure Naval Architects originated out of a desire to work independently, to design and engineer luxury motor yachts, to be involved in refits, conversions and the building process, and to work with shipyards all over the world.
Azure Naval Architects provides concepts, designs, specifications, engineering packages, construction supervision, and project support for Owners and shipyards. Its systematic approach takes the Owner step-by-step through the design, engineering and construction phases, giving the Owner a firm grip on the overall building process. It also gives shipyards access to Azure Naval Architects' extensive knowledge in yacht building, thereby improving the design, finish, and delivery time of their yachts.
