All visionaries, poets, scholars and others, such as Jules Verne have, at some time or another, contributed to its conception.
Proteus is a motor-driven trimaran. The shape of its hull currently represents the most stable model known, both underway and at anchor.
Proteus can be fitted with hydrofoils. Hydrofoils are underwater appendages similar to an aircraft’s wings, on which the boat bears down in order to lift completely clear of the water and "fly" over its surface. Only the hydrofoils and the vessel’s means of propulsion remain in contact with the water, which considerably reduces friction and, thus, greatly improves the performance for a similar motorization.
With the same level of performance, consumption is reduced compared to conventional hull forms. It provides incomparable comfort, even in rough seas, and conveys an indescribable sensation of flying over the water at 50 knots or more is.
All the solutions conceived and used give priority to comfort, on board pleasure and the discovery of hitherto unknown sensations.
Proteus is available in several sizes. Two versions have so-far been designed: 36m (120) and 51m (170). The 85m and 127m models are currently under study.
