On the auspicious date of 07/07/2007, Hakvoort Shipyard in Holland launched the 38-metre luxury motoryacht Perle Bleue. Her delighted owners, Mr and Mrs Stanley Bey, attended the ceremony and threw a thank you party for 150 guests and workers.
Diana Yacht Design was responsible for the naval architecture brief and Donald Starkey designed the contemporary wood panelled interior.
Perle Bleue’s maiden voyage will see her cross the Atlantic and go on display at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
Perle Bleue is the second yacht built by Hakvoort for the same owners, following on from the success of the 44-metre Campbell Bay. “The entire team at the Hakvoort yard is made up of exceptionally dedicated people,” commented Mr Bey. “The craftsmen are exceptionally talented and knowledgeable, proving time and time again their ability to interpret what the yard’s management and clients require.”
The owners’ rich 40-year experience of both boatbuilding and the yachting lifestyle is reflected throughout their latest project. Recognising that the vast majority of their time onboard – and that of charter guests – is spent outside, Perle Bleue has exceptionally large aft deck areas and a magnificent sun deck. The spacious feeling is enhanced by the use of reinforced glass bulwarks. The yacht also offers splendid accommodation for ten people in a full beam master stateroom and three guest suites, plus eight crew members.
