Westport Shipyard has launched and delivered Seaquest, the twelfth of its William Garden-designed 130-foot tri-deck motoryacht series. To commemorate the vessel’s completion, its American owner, a repeat Westport customer, hosted a catered launch party for employees at the builder’s Westport, Washington yard.
A lifelong boating enthusiast, the owner of the newest 130 has owned a succession of yachts, including a Westport 112’. According to Westport President Daryl Wakefield, “We are pleased that his experience with the 112 was a major factor in his decision to select Westport as the builder of his new yacht.”
Wakefield added, “Westport’s design philosophy, performance and build quality have made Westport yachts equally popular on the brokerage market, noting that the 112 sold within two weeks of becoming available. The launch of Seaquest keeps Westport on its pace toward a record year, with six deliveries completed to date, and four more scheduled by year’s end.”
With exterior styling and arrangement by Gregory Marshall, the Westport 130 offers accommodations for ten in the owner’s party, a master suite forward on the main deck, two VIP and two guest staterooms. Social areas include a large main-deck saloon, ten-place dining room, and skylounge with bar opening to an exterior lounge area with jetted tub. With its twin 2735-hp MTU diesels, the Westport 130 cruises in the low 20-knot range, with a top speed in the upper 20s.
