Mulder Shipyard recently opened the doors of a brand new interior division. Some 1000m2 of pure manufacturing space will accommodate all of the Dutch yard’s yacht interior production, creating possibilities to shorten delivery times and answering the increasing demand for larger yachts. Extra space is necessary for the yachts that are being built and for the hulls that will be delivered to the yard in the near future. By transferring interior production to new premises one kilometre down the road, extra room becomes available at the yard itself. This creates possibilities to shorten delivery times. In the new interior division, wooden copies of the yacht’s frames will be arranged on a 1:1 scale. The interiors will then be built within this mock-up of the hull before being transported to the yard and placed in the actual yacht. Since its commencement in 1932, Mulder Shipyard has launched many fine yachts from its original premises in the town of Voorschoten. With an increasing order book and greaterdemand for large yachts, the yard itself is now looking for larger facilities in addition to thenew interior workshop. This will ensure that Mulder can fully meet the anticipated future demand for its luxury, Dutch-quality yachts.
