We are delighted to share that the Truly Classic 127 Atalante, launched last summer, has won the World Superyacht Award in the category Sailing Yachts 30m to 39.99m. 14 mei, 2016 - The announcement was made at the award ceremony in Florence and is a fine recognition for our yard as well as the yacht’s designer Andre Hoek and the owner who was heavily involved in the entire project. With her Neptune prize proudly displayed on board, Atalante will take part in the forthcoming Superyacht Cup in Palma with an extra spring in her step.

Atalante beat off stiff competition in her category, with the other finalists being Doryan (Baltic Yachts), Nikata (Baltic Yacht Ltd), Seawave (Southern Wind Shipyard) and the Swan 115 S. The owner of Atalante was very pleased with the award: “I wanted the new Atalante to be a faster successor to my previous Truly Classic 90, without in any way losing the feeling of closeness to the water or the ability to spin the yacht on a sixpence when racing. The build process was great fun and the yard put a great deal of effort into getting every detail right. Atalante performs even better than my highest expectations and this award is a testimony to the dedication and skill of everyone involved.”
The first Truly Classic 127 was delivered to a delighted repeat client in 2015. While her unprecedented size makes Atalante larger, faster and even more comfortable than previous Truly Classics, she retains the cosy feel and direct contact with the water of a much more intimate boat.
Atalante has excellent racing properties that will serve her well on the regatta circuit, including a continuous longitudinal framing of high tensile aluminium, a deep-draught keel, a carbon rudder and cable-based direct steering. As the owner enjoys helming the yacht himself, the wheel is in the aft cockpit and the aft deckhouse is dedicated to navigation; when Atalante is at anchor, the whole aft area can be reserved for the owners.

The interior is finished in some lovely raised and fielded panelling of West Indies mahogany, with the ceilings and walls above the wainscot level painted white. While Atalante is easily large enough to contain many more cabins, the owner preferred to have fewer, roomier interior spaces. Those lucky enough to stay onboard will love the way the full-beam salon is flooded with natural light as they enjoy the pleasant bar area.
As various commentators have noted, Atalante‘s exceptional build quality and design place her among the finest boats in this category anywhere in the world.
