Ancona, 10 July 2006 -  Another banner day for CRN. A new launching that saw all the children of Ancona take part in the festivities at the shipyard. The vessel, the largest to be launched from Ancona in the last 6 years, lifts CRN to the prestigious threshold of 120 steel and aluminium mega-yachts placed in the water.

“GiVi”, a splendid steel and aluminium mega-yacht measuring 60 metres, the latest addition to the CRN family, took to the water on Saturday 8 July with more than a thousand people on hand, including a large number of children.

A landmark event not only for the shipyard but for the entire Ferretti Group, and the crowning moment in a period of unprecedented commercial success for CRN. Present at the prestigious event, to which all of Ancona was invited, were the top management of the Ferretti Group, including Chairman Norberto Ferretti and Chief Executive Officer Gabriele Del Torchio, plus the Chairman of CRN, Lamberto Tacoli, and the Shipyard’s Chief Executive Officer, Gennaro Candida De Matteo.

Treated as guests of honour were the many children who, equipped with hundreds of blue balloons and flags presented to them at the entrance, took part in the stirring ceremony, greeting the impressive ship.

There were also numerous well-known figures from the worlds of politics and business. The businessmen present, both from Italy and abroad, included Giuseppe Colaiacovo (Colacem), Zeno Soave (Socotherm), Nerio Alessandri (Technogym), Brunello Cucinelli (Brunello Cucinelli cashmere), plus the well known fashion designer Donatella Girombelli. And there were quite a few politicians on hand as well, including Senators Alessandro Forlani and Guido Calvi, National Deputy Carlo Ciccioli, the President of the Provincial Government Enzo Giancarli, the Regional Councillor for Port Affairs Loredana Pistelli and the newly-appointed head of the Municipal Port Bureau, Pierfrancesco Benadducci.

During the ceremony, which opened with the Italian national anthem played by the Band of Castelferretti, the greetings of Chairman Norberto Ferretti were followed by the words of CRN Chairman Lamberto Tacoli and of Chief Executive Officer Gennaro Candida De Matteo.

“I want to thank all the staff who contributed to the successful completion of this project – emphasised Lamberto Tacoli – and let them know how proud we are of their great teamwork. Today the City of Ancona can rightfully lay claim to its title as the world capital of mega-yachts”.

The close ties between the shipyard and Ancona were further stressed by Gennaro Candida De Matteo, who observed that “CRN and the Ferretti Group have invested in the city, confident that it will establish a fruitful working relationship leading to economic growth. Looking to the future, we plan to build four vessels of more than 40 metres every year”.

Following the blessing of the new ship, the ceremony got underway with the traditional breaking of the bottle by a young girl - further evidence of the role of children in the celebration - accompanied by Chairman Norberto Ferretti.

At that point the “GiVi” elegantly slipped into the water, to the stirring notes of “Nessun Dorma” from Puccini’s Turandot, plus the rousing applause of the public and a thousand CRN balloons released into the sky. Following the spectacular launching ceremony, an exclusive cocktail party was held at the shipyard’s private dock, running until sunset.

With its majestic, elegantly proportioned grey hull, the “GiVi” is a mega-yacht designed to hold up to 16 passengers and no fewer than 20 crew members. Pair of Caterpillar 3516B DITA-SWAC engines propel the vessel at a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. The internal furnishings, designed by the Zuccon International Project firm, in collaboration with the technical staff of CRN, reflect the shipowner’s refined taste, favouring shapes and lines that are simple but full of class, in what amounts to the perfect setting for a vessel whose password is elegance.

The launching was a moment of pride for all those who worked on the project, marking a major achievement in the history of CRN and of Ancona, increasingly attentive to the field of super-luxury recreational vessels, a sector in which the country seat has won itself an unchallenged role of world leadership.

None other than the “GiVi”, together with the 54-metre “Ability”, a mega-yacht launched last December, and the CRN 128’, launched in April, have been selected to represent CRN at the upcoming Montecarlo boat show, recreational boating’s most important exposition worldwide.
