Aegean Yacht is working at a new custom project, 57-metre (187 feet) three masted staysail schooner set for delivery in May, 2009.

The buyer, an experienced Super yacht owner, has named the yacht MONTIGNE and is planning to use her both for private cruises and as a commercial charter vessel. Built to the MCA’s highest standards for safety and the owner’s demanding levels of comfort, MONTIGNE will become one of the world's largest sailing yachts available for charter.

The yacht’s elegant profile and classic lines, disguise her modern construction and the latest technlogy being used in her systems and eqipment. MONTIGNE will carry a total sail area of 720m2 on the 3 masts and a 6m bow sprit, she will be equiped with two 760hp Engines, giving the yacht a range in excess of 4000+ nm under engine power alone.

The 10 m beam of the yacht results in a very stable and comfortable platform and huge open deck spaces to give her clients maximum comfort. The vast top sundeck will be one of the yacht’s most poplar entertaining spots. It is a perfect place for sunbathing, relaxing or soaking in the Jacuzzi during the daytime and will be easily converted into party zone in the evenings. The fore deck will have a 7.3m Diesel Powered Catermaran Rib with landing craft bow ideal for swimming, beach landings, a 4m SkiBoat/ fast Rib as well as an assortment of canoes, windsurfers, wake boards, water skis, Dohnuts & Bananas.

Another undoubtedly popular spot will be the aft deck with its two bars - ‘wet-feet’ service and teppanyaki grill, as well as an al fresco dining area for 14. The Thai style ‘sala’ area at the very stern will be covered with cushions and will offer ample space for book-reading, chatting with friends or just watching the world go by. The whole aft deck will be completely shaded and cooled with fans and water mist sprays.

The salon on the main deck with formal dining area and two sitting lounges can only be described as enormous, for a sailing yacht of any size. It’s sophisticated, nostalgic airy atmosphere is accomplished by the use of deep rich machogany colors giving a warm natural soft glow and light upholstered furniture. The salon will be served by a fully equipped professional galley.

Up to twelve guests will be comfortably accomodated in 6 suites. The luxurious owner’s suite, with its own access, is 60 sq metres and features a super king-size bed, LCD television, DVD and music equipment, mini bar, safe, internet and direct dial telephone. The white marble ensuite bathroom features a jucuzzi bath. The suite will have its own adjoining massage room with a choice of spa treatments to help clients relax and remove stress.

Other accomodation includes a VIP suite almost equal in size to the owners suite and four very spacious double, twin or family cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms. The cabins provide for up to 12 guests in great comfort and can be configured to accommodate a variety of family groups. Accommodation is also provided for a professional crew of 10.

MONTIGNE will be equipped with all of the latest safety and communication equipment.

MONTIGNE will become one of the most exciting yachts delivered in 2009 and the 40th yacht built by Aegean Yacht boatyard.
