Sunrise Yachts - the super yacht yard founded by German entrepreneur Herbert P. Baum and French-British yacht-builder Guillaume Roché – is proud to announce two major achievements:

- Hull n. 0181 – now named “Africa” – has just been sold to a Swiss-based client with delivery scheduled June
2009;

- The company has confirmed an exciting collaboration agreement with world-renowned yacht designer Espen
Oeino.

With the skilled assistance of Michael Payne of Camper & Nicholson’s International, marketing partners for the Sunrise 45, the first vessel of the series was acquired a Swiss-based client, who had regularly chartered yachts for years and finally opted for ownership.

The high standards and commitment to quality he perceived in the Sunrise founders and team, great value for money, the availability of the yacht for the 2009 summer season, as well as the aggressive marketing plan projected to build up the Sunrise Yachts brand confirmed his decision to trust Sunrise with the construction of his first yacht. Herbert P. Baum stated: “The market, and the industry in general, will scrutinize our first vessel with an unforgiving eye; hence the critical importance for Sunrise to deliver the highest quality yacht with this first project”.

The Sunrise 45m, with design by Paolo Scanu and interior design by Franck Darnet, is a full displacement, long-range motor-yacht, with high-tensile steel hull and aluminum superstructure, powered with 2 MTU 12V 2000 M70 engines and built to Lloyd’s / MCA requirements. Two sister-ships are under construction, with deliveries scheduled June 2009 and December 2009. The first vessel “Africa”, will be exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show 2009. The second vessel is still available for sale.

At the time of the Monaco Yacht Show, Sunrise Yachts also confirmed an exciting collaboration agreement with Espen Oeino, the designer whose work, in recent years, has contributed to redefine yacht design with exceptional projects built at the world’s most prestigious shipyards. The association of his name to the Sunrise brand says a lot about the company’s ambition and commitment to excellence. Espen Oeino said: “We are looking forward to working with Sunrise and their hugely experienced team on their new series of motor yachts in which we will endeavour to incorporate some very exciting features rarely seen on yachts of this size”.

Based on market trends, inquiries received over the last 12 months and shipyard capabilities, the new Sunrise/Oeino Series will include 3 designs: a 45-metre (extensible to 50m), a 55-metre (extensible to 60m) and a 65-metre flagship.

The designs, which will be introduced in spring 2009, will integrate innovative uses of space, light, style and unique design and technical features that will surely not go unnoticed. Guillaume Roché stated: “With these new designs, we want to offer the market a compelling alternative to the most established and striking designs available anywhere in the world”.
