In a Christmas atmosphere, the megayacht slipped into the water on December 17th, 2006. It was an exciting event warmly shared by everyone, in spite of the rain.
The launch was a magnificent occasion for CRN Shipyard and for all the Ferretti Group, celebrating the birth of their largest megayacht launched in the last three years.
It was the crowning glory of the commercial success of CRN Shipyard, for sales during the last 6 months of 17 megayachts ranging from 30 to 72 meters.
The event was attended by over 2,000 guests.
The launch was attended by the Owner with his family and his guests.
Also present were representatives of the local Authorities, including the Mayor of Ancona, Fabio Sturani; the President of the Marche Region, Gian Mario Spacca; Enzo Giancarli, President of the Province of Ancona; the Euro Member of Parliament, Luciana Sbarbati; Maria Paola Merloni, President of Confindustria Marche; and the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Giampaolo Giampaoli, as well as the local military dignitaries.
Among the local and national industrialists were Arturo Ferruzzi (in the picture), Andrea Della Valle (Tod's) and numerous others who had traveled from various parts of Italy.

The Mayor of Ancona, Fabio Sturani, highlighted the economic and social importance brought by CRN Shipyard in Ancona and Lamberto Tacoli, Chief Executive Officer of CRN, pointed out that the Shipowner is above all a friend who believed in the Ferretti Group since the beginning.
The CRN Chief Executive Officer also thanked all the collaborators for the their passion and sacrifice in working during the last years. There are 25 ships (6 in steel and aluminum from 54 to 72 meters, and 19 in composite from 29 to 43 meters) under production - simultaneously - at the Ancona and Fano facilities

The Owner wanted to emphasize his trust and respect for the Ferretti Group that built his 5 megayachts.
The M/Y Ability was finally christened by a Greek Orthodox Priest.
The ceremony was impressive and emotional for everybody, as they celebrated the launch of this excellent and exclusive example of "made in Italy" quality.

With the emotional musical notes of Carmina Burana of Carl Orff, M/Y Ability slipped elegantly into the water, accompanied by the applause from public which had held its breath throughout the ceremony.

The proportional lines of this 54 meter displacement megayacht are splendid.
The huge celebration was then followed by a sit-down lunch in one of the CRN sheds where steel megayachts are built, adorned with Christmas decorations.
The impressive celebration was enjoyed by all in attendance.
