Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw has redelivered the 47.30m (155 ft) Feadship Inevitable after a complete rebuild at the refit and repair facility at the yard in Makkum.

This 18-month project involved an all-new classically styled interior with blond teak raised and fielded paneling. Other major changes included an extension of the bridge deck lounge and the sun deck. Inevitable also has a distinctive new look thanks to a dark blue color for her hull.

“This project can more accurately be described as a rebuild than a refit because it touched every aspect of the yacht,” explains yard managing director Sijbrand de Vries. “The 200-plus items on the work list ranged from overhauling the generators and installing a new main switchboard to sandblasting the underwater body and fitting new tenders and cranes.”

“Earlier modifications such as the addition of a swim platform and relocating the tenders to the sun deck were replaced with new structures in accordance with full Lloyds and Flag state requirements.

The cooperation between De Vries, other members of the Feadship group and sub-contractors ensured the success of this huge project.”

The rebuild of Inevitable follows three acclaimed refits of the Feadships Siran, Utopia and Aurora since the new facility in Makkum opened in 2005.

Inevitable was originally launched as Mi Gaea in 1990 and included a special garage and reinforced passerelle for the owner’s pair of Harley Davidson motorbikes. After several years she changed hands and was renamed Blue Moon. Impressed by his experiences, this client went on to commission two new Feadships of his own (both called Blue Moon). The current (fourth) owner purchased the yacht in 2005 and renamed her Inevitable
