Yacht Vision ’08 had a slightly green tinge and with that tone came some of the most interesting and thought provoking discussions and presentations to date.

Speakers focused on the impact our superyacht industry has on the environment and the changes in technology that are taking place in order to accommodate our global challenge. We discussed design, technology, security, recruitment, our expanding market and other factors that affect our industry and business. By sharing our experiences with each other we create opportunities to “think” and “expand our thinking” and this can only be good. We would like to thank and applaud all the speakers for their contribution to our symposium.

Yacht Vision ’08 also offered wonderful opportunities to see some of New Zealand’s most innovative and successful companies first-hand. By travelling out to the yards and touring the facilities of innovators such as Yachting Developments, High Modulus, Alloy Yachts, McMullen & Wing, Robinson Marine Interiors and Southern Spars, the delegates were brought face to face with our pathfinders. The New Zealand marine industry leaders were able to “show off” their projects, facilities and their people. The experience for us is priceless and for the delegate – enlightening.

Of course, Yacht Vision wouldn’t be Yacht Vision without the traditional networking adventures, yacht racing and soirees that we Kiwis are infamous for. From the opening cocktail party held amongst some of the finest examples of NZ yachting history to the tropical and lush grounds of the stunning Kelliher Estate, the delegates of Yacht Vision ’08 had a chance to meet, renew and establish relationships with their New Zealand Colleagues and Friends.

The Yacht Vision ’08 website will be updated in the coming days with photos, stories and speakers papers. We welcome you to come and explore the site and find out why Yacht Vision ’08 was so special.
