The first motor yacht Project 23 M built on the shipyard Laky Verf was launched on April, 24, 2007 in Shlisselburg (Leningrad region).

Let me remind you that at the end of November 2006 this yacht was launched for checking the survival systems and then was lifted up for winter storage.

During the ceremony and in accordance with the old traditions of the Russian shipbuilding a bottle of champagne was broken against the anchor hawse pipe. This mission was given to one of the shipyard employees Irina.

After checking of all the systems the yacht will go for sea trials on the Neva and then to Lake Ladoga after which she will be delivered to her owner. The first navigation of the yacht will be in North-West region.

As for choosing the name of the yacht, it was a rather difficult process. They say “the fortune of the vessel depends on its name”. Considering the peculiarity of the yacht (the project was made specially for St. Petersburg) the owner decided to name her “Ohta” after the river Ohta to the East of St. Petersburg.

We hope that the owner will really enjoy his river voyages on “Ohta” under St. Petersburg bridges, especially during the period of “white nights”.
