With 95 super and mega yachts, 530 exhibitors, 8000 square metres of stands and more than 22,000 visitors, the Monaco Yacht show today unites the most prestigious companies from the yachting industry. Seduced by the event's success and prestige, big luxury names have also joined MYS in the past few years like for example Mercedes-Benz, Baccarat and the watch making manufacture Blancpain, who for the last seven years has designed a limited series MONACO Y.S. watch for each event.

95 jewels of the seas
Yachting leaders recognise MYS as THE reference yachting trade show. An international event par excellence, it is THE yearly event not to be missed! Shipyards and brokers reserve their most beautiful selection of units for this exceptional trade show, for them it's the place and the ideal moment to unveil their world previews (30 new yachts already confirmed for this year).

This year, in accordance with the current movement which tends towards the construction of even bigger yachts, the priority will be given to large-scale units. Therefore, more than 55% of the yachts registered for 2006 are between 40m and 90m long. Without any doubt, the MYS’ stars will be these giants of the seas, most of them being presented in world premiere. Here are some of their best ambassadors:

ABILITY – M/Y 54m and GI VI – M/Y 60m from CRN,
S/Y Baltic 46,22m,
M/Y Baglietto 53m,
M/Y Benetti 65m,
DILBAR –M/Y Oceanco 66m,
OASIS – M/Y Luerssen 60m,
MALTESE FALCON – Clipper S/Y 88,10m and ROSEHEARTY, Ketch S/Y 56m from Perini Navi.

…that's without including yachts which will be presented by brokers, the list of which will be revealed on 1st July 2006.

A demanding choice of exhibitors
MYS likes to think of itself as representing the yachting sector: shipyards, brokers, designers, manufacturers… A highly complete range of activities is represented there, with exhibitors having the quality of their service and a know-how recognised by the profession in common. Not everyone can exhibit at the MYS! In fact a demanding choice of exhibitors is made, and solid references in the yachting sector are the main criteria. With more than 500 exhibitors, the Monaco Yacht Show is representative of the booming sector which is becoming more professionalised. It is now no longer necessary to increase the size of the trade show on quay – visiting it in four days would be impossible – but each year organisers are endeavouring to improve the quality...

One single watchword: quality!
Most of the trade show stands are in the image of yachting: tailor-made, they elegantly compete to appeal to a demanding and wealthy clientele, offering them a luxurious, pleasant welcoming area at first glance.

Last year, the excellent debut of the Darse Sud air conditioned tent, the trade show's biggest tent, led to organisers modifying the plans in order to offer exhibitors more spacious stands. The same approach was followed for the other air conditioned tents (Darse Nord and Parvis de la Piscine) whose plans have been revised. The outside tents situated on the T Central will also be expanded to offer better conditions for receiving clients.

16th Monaco Yacht Show official sponsors

BLANCPAIN, renews its commitment to the Monaco Yacht Show for the seventh consecutive year, in a continuing tradition of partnerships with the maritime world.With its roots in the Vallée de Joux, Blancpain pays homage to the highest forms of centuries-old methods of mechanical watchmaking. Instead of assembly line construction, each Blancpain watch is assembled “from A to Z”, by a single watchmaker. The key components of the movements are painstakingly finished by hand, using techniques developed long ago. Innovation is tied to tradition as Blancpain has taken the concepts of the last century and brought them forward to take watchmaking to places where it has never been before. There is a natural link between Blancpain’s love of challenge and the passion of yachts aficionados.

A whole host of services at the participants’ disposal
These four intense days must be optimised to get the most out of the contacts made between participants. Every year the organisers endeavour to improve the services offered to participants on site, and in particular in 2006:
  • The Press Center, more spacious, has been transferred within the Darse Sud air conditioned tent. It will be accompanied by a comfortable lounge where the participants will be able to make themselves comfortable for a meeting or relax while flicking through the partner magazines of MYS kindly put at their disposal;
  • The fleet of courtesy cars, reserved for visitors wearing the "Multipass" badge will be completed with shuttle-buses reserved for exhibitors, linking Monaco's hotels and the trade show during the rush hour (Service guaranteed from 8.30 to 10.30 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.);
  • A network of plasma screens will inform the visitors of exhibitor and trade show news;
  • The entrance of the Parvis de la Piscine will be expanded taking into account the busy period recorded last year in order to reduce visitor's waiting time.
And like in 2005…
  • Catering and refreshment Services will be available in the elegant Parvis de la Piscine's Champagne Bar and Restaurant Lounge;
  • The capacity of the Sushi Bar will be reinforced taking into account its success during the 15th event;
  • The Business Center, open to all participants will be located in the Darse Sud.
Preparing your visit to the trade show

A few years ago, the MYS had the right idea by getting involved in developing a web site dedicated to three distinct targets: visitors, exhibitors and the members of the media. At a time when the internet has become one of the most used media, MYS can pride itself in having a complete web site which enables participants to prepare their visit to the trade show in an optimum way:
Making an appointment with an exhibitor, locating a stand, creating a personalised list of visits, buying a visitor badge on-line… everything a participant needs can be found on the Monaco Yacht Show web site…
The usage data from our website www.monacoyachtshow.com confirms its success: 842 392 viewed pages - 133 056 visits – 90 723 visitors, of which 84 740 were new (Statistics from April 2005 to April 2006).”

Monaco at the MYS' rhythm

At the end of September, a quite special hustle and bustle has taken over Monaco which lives in unison with the Monaco Yacht Show. Hotels are full, restaurants and lounge-bars have been taken by storm by participants. The MYS is also the occasion for exhibitors to invite their customers to parties and cocktail parties in places where Monte Carlo works its magic: the empire room of the Paris hotel, the terraces of the Meridien Beach Plaza hotel or the Port Palace, the Swimming Pool surroundings of the Monte Carlo Beach… but also the Blue Gin, the brand new bar in the Monte Carlo Bay resort hotel, a peninsula of gardens and luxury on the water that Monaco Yacht Show!
