CRN shipyards has launched the third 128-footer signed by Custom Line. The launch was attended by Mr. Lamberto Tacoli, Managing Director of the Shipyard, together with a representative from the ship owner, Arch. Giovanni Zuccon and the company staff. The ceremony was filled with a great enthusiasm shared by all the participants.

On April 18, 2006, Heesen Yachts launched Sirocco. Sirocco is named after the south wind that blows hot, dry air from the Sahara to the north. It’s not just the name, but the whole interior of this 47-meter, semi-displacement, custom-built yacht that gives Sirocco a distinctly African ambience. Wooden floors, the use of natural stone, and leather makassar wood, combined with a sophisticated use of earth tones, and very unusual, exclusive tiles give this yacht a look all its own.

Stan Antrim, the managing director of Shadow Marine is a man who views challenges as opportunities, has a great passion for our industry and is proudly carving a well-earned niche in the same. As a former US Navy SEAL Commando with a career spanning over 25 years, his accomplishments would send Survivor contestants back to kindergarten. Serving multiple tours in Vietnam; one in Grenada and later, taking charge of naval operational forces in Central and South America, this is a man that has seen the flip-side of yachting.

The most recent addition to the CRN family, 54-meter displacement megayacht in steel and aluminum called Ability, slipped into the water on December 17, 2005. Athena represents four years of spirited teamwork, combining the unique talents of Pieter Beeldsnijder for exterior and interior design with the flawless naval architectural skills of Gerard Dijkstra & Partners. With these two talented legends and the shipyards’ own group of dedicated craftspeople the perfect shipbuilders ‘dream team’ was created and Athena will undoubtedly become part of yachting history.

The most recent addition to the CRN family, 54-meter displacement megayacht in steel and aluminum called Ability, slipped into the water on December 17, 2005. The event was attended by over 2,000 guests, by the Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ferretti Group, Norberto Ferretti and Gabriele Del Torchio, as well as the citizens of Ancona. It was a magnificent occasion for the Shipyard and for all the Ferretti Group in the wake of their recent commercial success with 17 megayacht sales from 30 to 72 meters in the past 6 months. This exceptional figure confirms the extraordinary production capability of the shipyard where 25 yachts from 30 to 60 meters are currently under construction.

On October 8, 2005, Benetti launched the 65-meter Amborsia III. This uniquely innovative yacht has been designed for her owners to cruise around the world. By volume and tonnage, Ambrosia III is the largest yacht launched to date at the Benetti Shipyard, as well as being the most technologically advanced yacht in the company’s history.

Holland Jachtbouw has announced the launch of the 141-ft schooner Skylge. The carbon mast and sophisticated rigging for this lightweight, high-performance yacht are currently being fitted, after which Skylge will make a shakedown cruise to Spain before heading to the Caribbean.

Westport Shipyard has launched and delivered Seaquest, the twelfth of its William Garden-designed 130-foot tri-deck motoryacht series. To commemorate the vessel’s completion, its American owner, a repeat Westport customer, hosted a catered launch party for employees at the builder’s Westport, Washington yard.

As Norberto Ferretti, president of Riva as well as Ferretti Group states: " It is a double challenge: in the one hand, towards the market that rewards the shipyard's choices from season to season. In the other hand, it is also a challenge for the Riva craftsmen, who are asked to produce a yacht over 35 metres with the same quality, style and refinement standards that have made this brand a legend".
