Perini navi n 46 is born

Perini Navi is glad to announce the launching of the 46th unit in the fleet: 56m aluminium ketch.

Saturday April 25th, the 46th unit in the Perini Navi fleet was launched: SY Riela, 56m aluminium ketch.

Designed by Perini Navi’s in-house naval architects together with New Zealander Ron Holland, SY Riela, boasts an ultra-light streamlined aluminium hull with maximum displacement optimized at 545 tons in order to guarantee both excellent sailing performances and extreme comfort. Both masts, the 58.8m main mast and the 48.26m mizzen, are also in aluminium, while the furling boom is in carbon fibre. Total sail area is expected to reach 1,500 m².

The interiors, designed by Remi Tessier, are based on luxury and elegance combined with contemporary style, which is reflected in the use of a wide and rich variety of precious and refined materials; woods such as macassar, ebony, wengè, teak and leather.

Riela is the seventh 56m sailing yacht launched by Perini Navi. The first 56m, Burrasca, was launched in 2003, and was then followed by Santa Maria (now Zenji), Rosehearty, Selene, Salute and Silvana. In the next 24 months another 3 units will be built in this same series, with similar naval architecture and fully customized interiors. Besides the 56m series, Perini Navi’s production plan will include two 45m steel sailing yachts, a 38m in Sealium an aluminium alloy, one 59m sailing yacht and two motor yachts: a 50m and a 55m in the new Vitruvius series, a project that will re-launch the Picchiotti historical brand in the world of luxury yachting.
